Celebrating and sharing life at Dayton Christian in the 1980's!

Karen Entingh Matson  1-11-12 :
"After 49 years of living in Dayton, Ohio, my husband, myself and our two teenage sons moved to Charlotte, NC. My husband's job required travel all week but he was able to return to Charlotte on the weekends where the office was located. After 10 months of this living and only seeing him every other weekend, we decided to uproot our family and move south. We moved July 4th weekend of 2011 and Jim was laid off mid October. Stunned, we realized that God wasn't. We also believe that while we thought we were moving to Charlotte for a job...God may have bigger plans ahead in store for our youngest son and playing football. His current coaches believe that he may be the first graduate from their high school (which was built in 2009) to go on to play Division I football in college. That of course remains to be seen but his size is a gift that God has given him...and you can't teach size. Looking forward to hearing about you!"

Terri Long Tyson  1-11-12 :
“On October 10, 2010 I was ordained in covenant with the United Church of Christ and called to serve at Oak Creek UCC in Kettering.  As part of my ministry, I operate a sliding scale fee mental health counseling service - Wholistic Living Counseling Services - so that those who don't qualify for community health and can't afford private care can access appropriate mental health service. For more information, just send me a note through the web site : www.wholisticlivingohio.com .  I also continue to work 1 to 2 days a month on the mental health floor at Miami Valley Hospital.  There is much need in the Dayton area and we have been swamped there.  I would ask that you pray God's blessing on my ministry that it might reflect the teachings and example of Jesus.”

"Many of you that may wonder where I am now.  I'm married for the second time and I have a daughter that will be 23 in June.  The man I married is a minster and so is his son.  We are holding services in our home until we either get a church building or can rent a store front.  About a month ago we moved from Ohio to Mississippi to be with his son and family.  Currently, there are 11 of us, including my daughter, living together."
